Technical Call Agenda 2022-03-10

This week we’ll go over the documentation additions I made, and then consider which granulation strategies should be defined first. Last week we decided that we need to start focusing on and talking about the Level 2 parts of Sandpiper, and we are missing an explicit recommendation for granulating a set of minimum-viable industry standards.

To be clear, this is not because work still needs to be done to the schema; technically Sandpiper can store any format, because it simply gathers chunks of binary data with distinct UUIDs. We just have to write a strategy for chopping a big file into chunks in the first place. While we explicitly don’t plan to do this for every format in the world, there has to be a seed case to have anything but an academic implementation. So let’s talk about how best to do that.

As usual, it’s at 9:00am US Central. I hope you can make it!
